Psalm 27:14 “Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD”
This verse has been such an encouragement and a “YAY, I’m going to persevere and wait”.. Lately it seems like it’s been more of a “How much longer, LORD?”
See growing up in a christian home I’ve heard and read a lot of stories about those that wait on the Lord and about those that don’t. I’ve also had times when I’ve experience the rewards of waiting as well as the fact that God can do more than I can ever think of imagine, I’ve even experienced that very recently (I’ll hopefully will be blogging about it) Yet I’m in a season where more and more I find myself on the side of “How much longer, Lord?”
How much longer till I meet my husband?.. How much longer until I have a family of my own?.. How much longer until I can work doing something that I’m truly passionate about?
The Beauty of Kairos, is the web address I used for this blog, why is that? I learned at bible study a couple of years ago that “kairos” in the new testament means “the appointed time in the purpose of God” – it’s always stuck with me for some reason.
I definitely want my life to always be in sync with God’s purpose and timing, the waiting though – it’s not always easy. Doubt can sometimes and often sneak in. I guess that’s why Paul (I think) so often encourages, urges, us to hide God’s word in our heart.
I have to admit that I haven’t done too good of a job in that depart, I mean I’ve memorized bible verses in school and ever so often, but after a while I can tend to forget them. So I’m challenging myself this year through the Beth Moore blog it’s called the Siesta Scripture Memory Team – 2 verses a month, and there is accountability through the blog too (and yes I will also try to post it here) we’ll see how it goes.
So I guess for now I will just sit back and wait on the Lord and pray that he will encourage me through his word and strengthen my heart to wait on him.
Yes you are a writer. Nice Blog. If you can put your thoughts into words and on paper...you can write. Keep it up! I enjoyed reading what you wrote.
